Pre Workout Prep

I’m pretty good about helping my body recover and revive after a good workout. Nothing beats a tall glass of water or an ice-cold Gatorade (G2 since it has few calories, of course) after an intense training session or a couple hours of basketball. Psychologically as much as physically, downing a protein shake or taking some Branch Chain Amino Acids (I use http://bit.ly/nhwyky) helps me feel like I’m helping my body grow and recover after punishing it.
But pre-workout is another story. I’m not nearly as diligent about prepping my body for optimum performance during my workout. I’ve seen guys taking shakes before hand, and have heard, dabbled in personally, or read about drinking caffeine or Energy drinks, eating small portions of protein or carbohydrates, and even keeping the stomach as empty as possible; all in an effort to get the most out of the workout to follow.
As with many, if not most, things fitness-related, I defer to Mens Health. And like always, they have great advice on the topic: http://bit.ly/qfTaXx

I’m on board with you with the post workout body rejuvenation and like you I do not put such attention to the pre-workout. Despite knowing I should. A work-in-progress to better habits I suppose.
Myself I defer to Oxygen for a healthy amount of information complimented by Runners World.
